Everything you need to understand or teach Pure Colour by Sheila Heti.
In Sheila Heti's novel Pure Colour, Mira moves away her home and her father to study at the American Academy of American Critics. She works at a lamp store, studies art, makes new friends, and falls in love with a woman named Annie. However, the more intensely she feels for Annie the more confused and guilty Mira feels regarding her relationship with her father. When he later falls ill and dies, Mira feels incapable of moving forward with her life in his absence. Experimenting with form, language, and plot, Heti's novel explores themes including love and intimacy, art and artistry, and faith and family.
