Praxis Overview
Fay Weldon's novel Praxis is a complex feminist text which tells the story of Praxis Duveen. Praxis grows up in a fraught home environment, and struggles to find solace, peace, and a true sense of direction. Throughout her life, she vacillates between embracing and defying cultural norms, thus illustrating her profound desire for both acceptance and freedom. The novel is written from both the first and the third person points of view, and explores themes including, autonomy, morality, and mental health.
