Picture Me Gone Overview
A young girl gets her first taste of the complexity of adult life in the novel “Picture Me Gone” by Meg Rosoff. Twelve-year-old Mila feels she has a good grip on reading people and situations until one of the precedents upon which she depended is broken when her parents lie to her. She also realizes how desperate and hopeless life can become when she meets her father’s friend who is contemplating suicide. Themes in this coming of age story include friendship and perception.
