People of the Book is a historical novel by Pulitzer Prize winning author Geraldine Brooks. The novel focuses on conservator Hanna Heath as she attempts to learn the history and secrets of the Sarajevo Haggadah, a real-life cultural treasure of Judaism. People of the Book deals with important thematic arguments including the value and history of books and the capacity of humankind for good and evil, with good always winning in the end.
