Patron Saints of Nothing is a young adult novel by Randy Ribay. The protagonist is Jason “Jay” Reguero a 17-year-old Filipino-American who lives in Michigan. He plans a visit to the Philippines to ask his uncle, a high ranking officer in the Philippine police department, why Jay's cousin Jun was killed in the country’s war on drugs. Not only does Jay learn the truth about Jun’s life and death, but he also learns some hard realities about human fallibility. Themes in the novel include culture, justice and injustice, and coming of age.
