Parade: A Novel Overview

In Rachel Cusk's novel Parade, four artists by the name of G seek to establish themselves as painters, sculptors, writers, and filmmakers. The more that their private artistic creations abrade others' expectations of who they should be, the more internally conflicted they feel. Told from the first and third person points of view, the novel subverts stylistic conventions and explores themes including identity, violence, and truth.
