Painted Horses Overview

"Painted Horses" is the story of two people--23 year-old aspiring archaeologist Catherine Lemay and rugged World War II vet and loner John H-- who forge an unlikely romance. The story shifts betwenn current day 1956 Montana (where Catherine and John H meet) and John H's past which leads him from Balitimore to Montana, to Europe, and back to Montana. When the dam project that brings Catherine to Montana threatens John H's way of life, Catherine must choose between the dualities of love and ambition as well as tradition and progress.
