Orchestra of Minorities Overview
An Orchestra of Minorities is a novel by Chigozie Obioma. The novel follows Chinonso Olisa, a Nigerian poultry farmer who enjoys his work but who leads a lonely life. One day, he sees a woman preparing to kill herself by jumping off of a bridge. Chinonso saves the woman, whose name is Ndali, and they soon fall in love. However, Ndali’s wealthy family looks down upon Chinonso and his humble work, so Chinonso embarks on a journey to improve his status in their eyes. The novel explores themes of class, history, morality, love, and loss.
