Norse Mythology is a series of retellings of traditional Norse myths. Although the plots of the stories are generally the same in this book as in traditional versions of the myths, the style in which the stories are told is original. The book begins with an introduction from the author, followed by chapters dedicated to background information and the Norse creation myth. Most of the following chapters are distinct stories from Norse mythology and the final chapters focus on events leading up to and including Ragnarok, the apocalypse of Norse mythology. The stories mostly focus on the mythological figures of Odin, Thor, and Loki, as is the case with most Norse myths that still survive today. The book is written in the third-person and in past tense, except for the final chapter, which is written in the present and future tenses.
