NW Overview
In NW, author Zadie Smith explores the northwestern region of London through the perspective of four characters: Natalie, a lawyer with two children, cheating on her spouse; her best friend Leah, a non-profit worker who does not want children; Felix, a 32-year-old man murdered on the street while trying to fix his life; and Nathan Bogle, a junkie and Natalie and Leah's former classmate. The novel explores the interconnectedness of these characters' lives and the ways in which the NW neighborhood has shaped them. NW tackles themes such as friendship, race, class, and sexuality.
