My Education Overview
This novel, written from the first person perspective of protagonist Regina Gottlieb, is the story of a young woman’s coming of age in the early 1990’s. As she makes life-changing discoveries about sexuality, friendships, and the fact that education does not only come from books, she finds herself responding selfishly, exclusively, and obsessively to her own desires. As the novel portrays her eventual journey of learning that there are other ways to engage with other people than those passed on personal wants, the narrative also explores thematic issues related to parent-child relationships and various aspects of marriage.
