Miss Emily is a historical novel by Nuala O’Connor. It is set in Amherst, Massachusetts in the year 1866. This novel tells the story of the iconic American poet Emily Dickinson, a shy, reclusive, and brilliant woman who preferred spending time writing rather than with other people. The novel begins when the Dickinson family hires a new maid, a young Irish immigrant named Ada Concannon.
