Marc's Mission Overview

The Way of the Warrior Kid, Marc's Mission, written by Jocko Willink, is the story of Marc, a sixth grader who has made a lot of improvements in his life over the past year. Despite the improvements, he can still get into trouble when he lets his emotions get the better of him. Marc's Uncle Jake is a former Navy SEAL who helps Marc understand how to control his feelings. He begins by telling Marc that other people may be having problems that Marc cannot begin to understand. Over the course of the summer, Marc learns new lessons in self-discipline and discovers that circumstances can sometimes cause a person to act out. The novel's themes include the power of discipline and the impact a person can have on another person's life.
