Lovely Green Eyes: A Novel Overview
Lovely Green Eyes is the story of Hanka Kaudersova, better known as Skinny. She is a 15-year-old Jewish girl attempting to survive in Auschwitz-Birkenau in the last months of World War II. When the doctor for whom she works is sent to the front in disgrace, Skinny manipulates her way into being chosen to serve as a field prostitute to the German troops, denying her religion and lying about her age to be selected. Twenty-one days follow in which Skinny experiences a range of traumas that lead her to consider faith, love, humanity, and the quest for survival.
