Lost Children Archive Overview
In the novel Lost Children Archive, Valeria Luiselli portrays the road trip of a troubled and complex family as they make their way across the United States from New York to Arizona. The husband and wife share a passion for creating pieces of art with the use of sound, but as the tributaries of their respective interests within the field drift further and further apart, their marriage and by extension their blended family, begin to show signs of imminent implosion. By providing the perspectives of several different members of the family of four over the course of their journey, Luiselli explores themes such as injustice, compassion, and the value inherent in the act of documenting.
