"Lock In" by John Scalzi is a futuristic crime tale where a worldwide virus has causes millions of people to be "locked in" to their bodies although their minds are fully functional. One of these victims is FBI agent Chris Shane, a "locked in" Haden whose first case is of a murder closely tied to the Haden community and both the political and business world.
