Michelle Adams’ novel tells the love story of Tom and Elizabeth, from adolescence to old age. It is told through third person limited narration, with its focus alternating between Tom and Elizabeth. The novel takes place in the fictional Cornish fishing village of Porthsennen as well as London, England. Adams tackles, among others, themes of love, family, and belonging.
