Samanta Schweblin's novel Little Eyes is a subversive commentary on the individual's relationship with technology. When the new kentuki gadgets enter the market, people from all over the world are excited to dwell inside and alongside the furry tech pets. While the pets seem to provide voyeuristic escape or virtual companionship, the characters soon realize the kentukis' darker implications. Through a range of different settings and perspectives, the narrative follows a diverse network of individuals' experiences with the fictional gadgets. The novel explores themes of anonymity, loneliness, and communication.
