Late in the Day Overview
Late in the Day, a work of literary fiction by Tessa Hadley, is about two close couples in their 50s living in London. After the death of one member of the group, the other three contend with grief and the precarious shifting of their relationships with one another. Through flashbacks, the reader sees how each of these characters has changed over 30 years. The novel considers themes related to death, marriage, and friendship, among others.
