Kindred: A Graphic Novel Adaptation Overview
Damian Duffy and John Jennings's graphic novel adaptation of Octavia E. Butler's novel, Kindred, chronicles the life of a young black woman, Dana, after she realizes that she has the ability to travel through time. Dana soon discovers that she travels from her home in the 1970s to a slave plantation in the 1800s in order to protect her ancestors and to ensure the birth of her great grandmother, Hagar. Her husband, Kevin, helps her throughout this journey, while Dana experiences the brunt of racial injustice during one of the most inhumane periods in human history.
