Marlon James' novel, John Crow's Devil, is the story of a small village that becomes the battle ground between good and evil. Pastor Hector Bligh has been indifferent about his duties. Then, a man who calls himself Apostle York arrives in town. Bligh believes York is possessed by demons, but he eventually learns that he is in the throes of madness from syphilis.
