Dominick Birdsey’s life is often complicated when dealing with his paranoid schizophrenic twin brother Thomas. I Know This Much Is True embarks on its entangled journey when Thomas walks into the Three Rivers Public Library and cuts off his own hand in protest of the war in the Middle East. While helping his brother who has been institutionalized, Dominick receives psychiatric help to come to terms with his own feelings about their past and begins to rebuild his life with his ex-wife Dessa.
