Home Before Dark Overview
In the psychological thriller Home Before Dark by Riley Sager, Maggie Holt returns to Baneberry Hall, the house from which she and her parents fled in terror after living there only twenty days. Maggie is determined to find out what happened to prompt them to abandon the residence. Maggie has lived in the shadow of her father’s novel, House of Horrors, in which he describes what allegedly happened. Themes in the novel include the impact of perception, truth is stranger than fiction, and the power of superstition.
