History of Wolves Overview
Emily Frilund's novel, History of Wolves, is the story of Linda Furston, who was a teenager when four-year-old Paul moved into her neighborhood with his mother, Patra. Linda began to babysit Paul and knew something was wrong, but his parents held to their Christian Science ideology and did nothing, so Paul died. Meanwhile, Linda's classmate became pregnant by a teacher and Linda struggled with these events for the rest of her life, eventually returning home to her mothers dilapidated shack. The main themes are coming of age, the importance of beliefs, and taking responsibility.
