“Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven,” later titled “He Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven,” is an eight-line poem by Irish poet William Butler Yeats. It first appeared in his 1899 collection The Wind Among the Reeds. One of his most famous poems as well as one of his shortest, this compact piece uses traditionally romantic imagery to examine the vulnerability of love.
