In Emma Donoghue's novel Haven, esteemed scholar and scribe Artt has a dream that he and monks Trian and Cormac are supposed to leave civilization and establish a new monastery on a remote island. Eager to please God, Trian and Cormac accept Artt's call to action. However, what begins as a trinity of travelers soon becomes a battle for survival. The longer the men are at sea and stranded on the island together, the more challenges they face.
