Happy Dreams Overview

Happy and Wufu migrate from a rural town to the big city of Xi'an in search of a better life. They work as trash pickers and come to know the gritty realities migrant workers face in the city. Happy's unrelenting optimism keeps his dreams alive, even in the face of crushing societal inequality that leads to Wufu's death. Happy attempts to fulfill Wufu's final wish that his body be carried back home to Freshwind, where his spirit can rest.
