Half a Chance is a children’s novel by Cynthia Lord in which 12-year-old Lucy, who seeks to prove herself as a photographer, befriends her 12-year-old neighbor, Nate, whose grandmother is suffering from dementia. Half a Chance is aimed at students in grades four through six and deals with themes which range from dealing with uncontrollable things to never doing the wrong thing for the right reasons.
