Hag-Seed is a retelling of The Tempest by William Shakespeare set in contemporary Canada. Artistic Director Felix is ousted from his job at a theatre festival by his scheming colleague Tony. Felix takes a job teaching Shakespeare at a prison where he stages a production of The Tempest and plots his revenge against Tony. Hag-Seed deals with the themes of crime and punishment, revenge, and grief.
