Guantanamo Boy is a fictional account of a fifteen year old boy who while on vacation in Pakistan with his family is abducted, accused of being a terrorist, and held for two years during which time he is tortured in ways most adults could not have withstood leading to him finally signing a false and pre-printed eight page confession. This Guantanamo Boy is held without trial or access to family or council of any kind, and is stripped of all basic humanity, while author Anna Perera constructs a story that reveals how easily fiction can become fact, and how the search for terrorists can turn ordinary people into that which they most fear.
