Grounded Overview
This short play, written to be performed by one actor in one act is the story of an American fighter pilot and a woman in her thirties who is never identified by name. Highly trained, skilled and determined, The Pilot experiences an unexpected relationship and pregnancy that lead to dramatic changes in both her work environment and her perspectives, changes that in turn lead her into a life-changing choice. As the narrative builds to its climax, it explores themes relating to the effects of combat on the mind, the experience of death, and definitions of identity.
