Five Little Indians Overview

In Michelle Good's novel Five Little Indians, Kenny, Maisie, Lucy, Clara, and Howie are torn from their homes and families as children and interned at the residential Mission School. Even after the characters leave the Mission, they remain haunted by the abuse they suffered while there. As their lives reconvene in the years following, they attempt to overcome the past in order to face the future. Written from the first and third person points of view, the novel explores themes including trauma, memory, and identity.
