Fire & Blood Overview
George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood is the history of the Targaryen monarchy in Westeros from Aegon the Conqueror, first of his name, to Aegon III. Spanning over 150 years, the history is narrated by Archmaester Gyldayn and uses multiple sources to attempt a comprehensive and balanced account of the Targaryen dynasty in Westeros. Aside from documenting the objective facts of the era, the history explores objectivity, structural misogyny, systems of power, the supernatural, and genre.
