Fairview Overview
“Fairview,” a play by Jackie Sibblies Drury, was the winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for drama. Its multi-layered narrative begins with a sitcom-like consideration of a black family preparing for a party, and ends with a character from that family making a plea to the audience for fairness on both sides of the racial divide in the United States. The play also explores themes related to the tension and contrast between perception and reality, as well as to the potential and power of the young.
