Everything Belongs to Us Overview
Everything Belongs to Us, a novel by Yoojin Grace Wuertz, tells a story of class conflict by way of love and friendship. This realistic account of South Korea during the late 1970’s tracks the lives of three young students at Seoul National University: Namin, a studious young woman from a poor section of Seoul; Jisun, a student activist who comes from wealth; and Sunam, a young man looking to climb up the social ladder. As the novel shifts between these three characters in close, third-person perspective, the narratives intertwine and relationships become complicated by money, sex, and secrecy.
