Eggshells Overview
Eggshells by Caitriona Lally is a modern fiction novel set in present-day Dublin, focusing on an eccentric woman of unknown age called Vivian who believes that she is a changeling and makes it her mission to find ways to re-enter the world from which she is supposed to have come. Living in a house she has recently inherited from a relative, she and her friend Penelope find common ground in their alienation from the wider world, and Vivian tries to find room for herself in the world in which she already lives. Themes explored in the novel include boundaries, friendship, the shape of things and different forms of communication.
