Dragon Teeth Overview
Dragon Teeth is a historical novel by author Michael Crichton. It is set in the year 1876 and follows William Johnson, a student at Yale College, as he goes west with Professor Othniel Marsh to search for dinosaur fossils. However, Marsh believes Johnson to be a spy for his rival, Edward Cope. Marsh leaves Johnson behind in the city of Cheyenne. Johnson then joins Edward Cope’s expedition, during which he encounters many grave dangers of the American West. The novel explores themes of rivalry, maturity, history, danger, and science.
