“Devotion” is a 34-line poem by Vietnamese American poet and novelist Ocean Vuong. It is the last poem in his first poetry collection published in 2016, Night Sky with Exit Wounds. Like many of the other poems in this collection, “Devotion” introspectively and intimately explores poignant themes, including love, physicality, trauma, and reconciling the past with one’s present.
