Delicious Foods Overview

Delicious Foods by James Hannaham is a novel that follows a mother and son duo through the events before, during, and after their experiences working at a farm known as Delicious Foods. The prologue of the book takes place after the events of most of the novel. The later chapters reveal the mysteries about the nature of Delicious Foods, Darlene's troubled past and crack cocaine addiction, Eddie's quest to find his mother, Eddie's loss of his hands, and how Eddie ended up driving a Subaru towards Houston, Texas. The reader witnesses all of these events through an unnamed third person narrator as well as through the narration of Scotty and Darlene. The novel is a story about loss, addiction, freedom, and recovery within a sprawling narrative encompassing much of the Southern United States.
