“Dedication to Ireland” is a four-stanza ode, or dedication poem, celebrating Speranza’s home country of Ireland. It was originally published in 1871 in her full-length collection Poems by Speranza, and acts as a call to action to those listening, as well as to the divine, to come to Ireland’s aid and elevate it to its full potential.
