Everything you need to understand or teach Dead Love by Elizabeth Siddal.
"Dead Love" is an 18-line lyric poem by English poet and artist Elizabeth Siddal. It first appeared in print in the 1890s when it was posthumously published by Siddal's brother-in-law William Michael Rossetti. The exact composition date of the poem is unknown. "Dead Love," like many of Siddal's poems, is fraught with sadness and doubt. In the poem, a jaded speaker cautions a presumably younger addressee not to put their faith in love, which the speaker argues is fickle and impossible.
