Day Shift Overview

Day Shift is a novel and the sequel to Midnight Crossroad. Day Shift tells the story of three residents of Midnight, Texas: Manfred, Olivia, and "the Rev." Their lives and secrets become ensnared when one of Manfred’s clients dies during a session with him. This event brings attention to the town just as a mysterious man places his equally mysterious son in the Rev’s care. As town members work to help the Rev care for the boy and Olivia works to help Manfred prove his innocence, the residents learn about each other’s secrets and talents and grow closer as a community. One’s obligation to help those who are vulnerable is a theme that runs throughout the narrative as do the motifs of romance, identity, morality, and family.
