Everything you need to understand or teach Darkness (Poem) by Lord Byron.
The poem "Darkness" was authored by George Gordon, Lord Byron, in July 1816. It was published in a single volume with the long narrative poem "The Prisoner of Chillon," in a collection named after the long poem. The poem was written during a tumultuous time in Byron's life and in the world: particularly, during the legendary "Year without a Summer," where a volcanic eruption caused darkness and cold throughout the summer of 1816. The poem addresses themes of darkness overtaking the universe.
