Everything you need to understand or teach Corinna's Going A-Maying by Robert Herrick.
Robert Herrick was an early modern English poet whose work often rejected the Puritan sensibilities of his day in favor of embracing the pleasures of life. His poems were thus largely unread in the Victorian period, and have been marginalized in scholarship ever since. This poem, "Corinna's Going A-Maying," is an example of this signature style. It celebrates the joy of youth, natural beauty, and sexual pleasure. The poem was first published in his collection Hesperides, in 1591.
