Everything you need to understand or teach Class Act by Jerry Craft.
The graphic novel Class Act by Jerry Craft follows Black students Jordan and Drew as they navigate their second year at Riverdale Academy Day School, a prestigious, mostly White private school. It is Craft’s companion book to the graphic novel New Kid. In Class Act, Drew starts the year with bias based on an altercation he had with a bully the previous year. Even though Drew makes honor roll grades, he does not believe he is accepted as an equal. Themes in the novel include maturity, nuances of racism, and attempts at inclusion.
