Everything you need to understand or teach Chorus by Rebecca Kauffman.
Moving back and forth across a fifty-year period, Rebecca Kauffman's Chorus tells the story of the Shaw siblings as they struggle to recover from the untimely death of their absent mother, Marie. Though some of the children grow older and move away, the majority of the novel takes place in and around the family's farm in Virginia in the early parts of the twentieth century. In telling the stories of the Shaws as both children and adults, Chorus navigates themes of grief, siblinghood, womanhood, class, and parenthood.
