Everything you need to understand or teach Casabianca (Poem) by Felicia Dorothea Browne Hemans.
“Casabianca” is a ten-stanza poem by English poet Felicia Hemans. It was first published in 1826 in The Monthly Magazine. In the poem, Hemans’s speaker describes a boy’s cries to his father amid the flames of battle aboard a warship. However, the boy’s father is already deceased, so he never receives the orders allowing him to leave his post. As a result, the boy also dies in the flames, and his body is washed out to sea.
