Everything you need to understand or teach Carnality by Lina Wolff.
In Lina Wolff's novel Carnality, when middle-aged Bennedith arrives in Madrid on a writing grant, she feels incapable of experiencing pleasure or joy. A series of unlikely acquaintances, however, gradually ushers Bennedith towards revelation and growth. Her kinships with Mercuro, Miranda, and Santiago make her realize that she needs to help others in order to help herself. However, these relationships also deliver Bennedith into a litany of obstacles and catastrophes she could not have predicted. Over the course of the novel, she must learn to exercise her own agency in order to understand her true self. The novel explores themes including love, purpose, and identity.
