“Blackberries” is a six-stanza free-verse poem by Canadian poet and novelist Maragret Atwood. It originally appeared in her 2020 collection Dearly: New Poems, and was a featured poem for National Poetry Day in the UK the same year. The poem follows a woman picking blackberries for a younger woman and uses the practice as a lens through which to explore themes of tradition and mortality.
