Bewilderness Overview
Bewilderness is a novel by Karen Tucker. it is a story about friendship and loss during the opioid epidemic. Set in a fictional North Carolina town hit hard by the loss of its local manufacturing economy, the novel is coming of age tale with contemporary relevance. It is narrated by the former addict Irene, whose recollections focus on her rebellious friend Luce and Luce's boyfriend Wilky, both lost to drugs. Bewilderness also explores themes such as recovery, blame, denial, and strength.
